Stone & Compass is excited to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower in 2020. Next year, we are offering two trips to immerse you into the history of the founding of America while experiencing modern day England.

High School Service Learning Trip to England

April 17 - 26, 2020

Scheduled during April Vacation Week for many high school students, this ten-day trip will immerse you into the history and culture of England during the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower’s arrival to Plymouth, Massachusetts. Student will engaging in service learning and cultural exchange with local high school students in the town of Harwich, England. Cultural and outdoor excursions include tours of London, Harwich and Colchester, hiking, high tea, and a banger (sausage) throwing competition.

Ages for this trip are 14 to 18 and/or students who will enter 9th grade in Fall of 2020 through 2020 graduating seniors.

400th Anniversary of the Mayflower Tour

June 17 - 26, 2020

Join Stone & Compass during an 11-day tour enjoying the sights and sounds of Harwich, England - a hidden gem on England’s East Coast. Largely untouched for hundreds of years, some of the buildings would still be recognized by Christopher Jones, Master of the Mayflower himself. Learn about the wider history of the area including witch trials 50 years before Salem, Roman domination and disaster in Britain’s oldest town and the charm and beauty of the English countryside as painted by master painter John Constable. You will enjoy the best of all that is old and new: walk along cobblestone shopping areas, eat wonderful food and head out into the countryside to visit farmlands. London and guided tours by passionate locals are included.
