We will take a nonstop overnight flight to London. There is a 5-hour time difference and plan to arrive in London the next morning.
DAY 2: LONDON TOUR
After arriving in London and checking into our hotel, we will take a tour of London.
DAY 3: TRAVEL TO HARWICH
In the morning, we will take a train to the port town of Harwich. We will take a historical tour of the town where the Mayflower was built.
DAY 4: HIKING THE ENGLISH COUNTRYSIDE
Today, we travel one of the best walks in Britain. Starting in Manningtree, we will pass by the Cattaway Marshes and stop at Bridge Cottage in Flatford which was the inspiration for landscape artist John Constable's The Hay Wain and The Mill Stream.
DAY 5: SERVICE LEARNING
On our first service learning day, we will work with local high school students on projects and events related to the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower sailing while engaging in culture exchange. After service learning, we will enjoy high tea.
DAY 6: COLCHESTER
Today we will visit the town of Colchester, regarded as the "oldest town" in England. We will tour ancient Roman ruins and Colchester Castle, founded by William the Conqueror.
DAY 7: SERVICE LEARNING
We will continue our service learning with local high school students. The day will wrap up with fish and chips on the seafront.
DAY 8: TREASURE HUNT & SAUSAGE THROWING
Today, we start off with a treasure hunt and then participate in the unique competition of sausage throwing. Bangers and mash will be served for dinner.
DAY 9: LONDON TOUR
We will head back to London in the morning. After arriving, we will walk through Portobello Road, home to the world's largest antiques market, and finish in the West End.
