The mission of Stone & Compass is to serve as an incubator and driving force for global partnerships and projects based on our model for sustainability. Stone & Compass reinvests profits from its tours and programs into sustainable projects that help build a vibrant future full of hope, financial security, peace, and happiness.

To be sustainable, a project must be economically viable and include a tangible outcome.  Each stakeholder involved may then educate and inspire others to form new projects, spreading the model of change.  This intersection of partnerships and projects is necessary to move toward a peaceful global community that has universal respect for the individual, the collective, and the environment.

Stone & Compass works with stakeholders who are committed to collaborating across physical and ideological boundaries.  We inspire them to see how their interests can come together into one project that will address multiple sustainable development goals.

Partnership Projects

Stone & Compass partners with the Green Go Solar Project to train community members to create a usable infrastructure for cosmetically defective solar cells from the waste stream of the manufacturing process.  Community members receive valuable education and the infrastructure can provide energy and revenue for the community with little to no overhead cost.  Excess energy can potentially be sold back to the local governments.  This project uses functional solar cells with some cosmetic defect rendering them unsuitable for use in retail-grade solar panels due to their appearance. These cells would otherwise become a waste product and have a negative impact on the environment in their disposal.

Stone & Compass continues to expand its global reach by partnering or creating projects that incentivize and inspire individuals to think beyond themselves with the hope of having a more sustainable future for all. At the heart of our mission is our internship program. Consisting of young adults ranging in age from 14-24, these interns are tasked with connecting, inspiring, and educating others through our partnership model. Each intern is part of a network that is building projects and friendships globally. Youth are the future and our interns are part of that future. Serbian Hazelnut and Strawberry Farm A sustainable project that was supported by Stone & Compass and was started by two amazing young people who shared a dream of doing something to support local populations, stimulate the economy, and also protect natural resources by only utilizing organic and best practices in agriculture, the Serbian farm has grown into a working hazelnut facility that now includes strawberry production. Phase two of this project will be to implement eco-tourism in the area. This project is a great example of how to use the Sustainable Partnership model as it has been successful from the development phase through to the project phase and beyond.

UP.png

We are working with and supporting Ultimate Peace. Ultimate Peace (UP) brings together youth from Palestinian, Arab Israeli, and Israeli Jewish communities to learn, play, and unite around the character building sport of Ultimate Frisbee. With a focus on teamwork, personal responsibility, and leadership, youth come together who would otherwise never meet due to the regional conflict. Our vision is that youth from diverse social and cultural backgrounds around the world will build new understandings, share meaningful experiences, and develop lasting relationships in and beyond the UP program. Based on this exposure and these connections, they will work collaboratively to bring about sustainable social change as the next generation of peace–building citizens.
